Burton 'B' 11 Aston Old Eds 3rds 33 on 29th September 2007
In an injury affected game that saw the first half cut to twenty minutes following a change of pitch after an incident left Simon Paupe unable to be moved until medical assistance arrived. The game itself was far more even than the score suggests with Burton completely controlling the forward encounters while Aston provided all the quick youthful moves in the backs. Further injuries to Mark Topliss and Simon Collier reduced Burton to 13 men and despite some excellent forward play involving Ian Fitzgerald, Ian Gibson and John Colllett that resulted in Pat Winter getting a try to add to his penalty goal and Sam Large dropping a goal from some thirty metres they had to settle for second best against a very lively Aston side.
