Burton travelled to Coventry and first had to find a referee from their own ranks before the match could take place and then made a great start to the game. An early lineout saw Burton execute a text-book catch and drive to set up Sultan Khan who was driven over for a try and Will Peach added the extra points. But then the pace of the home sides back three became evident as they scored three tries to establish a 19-7 lead at the break.

More of the same was to come in the second half as Burton had no answer to this pace and despite Burton’s packs control and discipline producing ball there was no way passed this wall of speed. Coventrians added a further three tries to finish the came leading by 34-7.
