On Sunday Burton under 14's were able to field two sides for the first time this season.

Burton 0 Lichfield 19 on   Oct 7th 2007

One side played at home against local rivals Lichfield. Burton started strongly and defended extememly well against a well organised and talented Lichfield side. However Burton were a little slow getting to the breakdowns and as a result really didn't see enough of the ball. The score remained nill nil for the first twenty minutes . Then Burton were unfortunate to concede a penalty in their own 22m area from which Lichfield powered over for a try. Lichfield added a second before the break following a clever diagonal  kick from their inside center . Burton didn't defend the kick well enough and Lichfield went over for try number two. In the second half Burton looked  more agressive and were matching Lichfield , however Lichfield added one further try. Burton looked to have scored a well deserved try from a well worked line out move but unfortunetly Chris Sammons just knocked on as he went over the line. Burton can take alot of positives from the game especially in the way their backs defended throughout.

Old Saltleians 34 Burton 12

In the second game a travelling Burton under14s played Old Salts ,fielding an experimental side with new players and other players filling in out of their usual positions.Burton started poorly conceding two early tries. They then had a good session of play and could and should of scored more than once.

After putting Salts under pressure Ashley Allum was able to score for Burton.

In the second half the opposition again ran in additional tries. Burton did not give up and were rewarded for their efforts with a try from Tom Bunting converted by himself.
