    Burton Stags 3    Nottingham  U14's 15

Nottingham unbeaten all season were going to be another test for the Stags side. Burton knew that they were in for a tough game when Burton were unable to clear their lines . The Nottingham back row and winger made a number of charge downs evntually resulting in a try. But the Burton side composed themselves and took the game to Nottingham . The Burton pressure paid off when they were awarded a penalty which James Giobbons kicked for 3 points. The next ten minutes were all Burton , but the Nottingham defence was excellent and Burton couldn't break through. Edwin Runagale was unlucky to spill the ball when coming onto the ball with some real pace. However as Nottinggham took a quick throw another charge down resulted in a second try for Nottingham. Again Burton responded by playing some fine rugby . The backs moved the ball well and were inventive with a couple of loop moves which nearly let Tom Hunt in for a try. In the second half Burton were dominant. Will Turner putting in some solid tackles. The Burton pack was outstanding loosing only two scrums the whole game. Unfortunetly one of these set up their very powerful center to crash through for try number three. This depite an heroic attampt at a tackle by Runagle, And so this hard fought , but entertaining game resulted Nottingham 15 Burton 3 and is one of the closest results Nottingham have had this season

Lindley and Kidsgrove 22    Burton Lions 17

Burton Lions travelled to Lindley and Kidsgrove and got off to a fine start with Alex Bowen scoring a try within the first two minutes after some fine handling. Seb Cherterman converted the try. Burton were playing some fine rugby with Clare, Chesterman and Alex Cooke linking well but Kidsgrove broke through and scored a try.  After more Kidsgrove pressure Bowen broke out of defence with a solid run, the ball was passed through more Burton hands before Bowen was on hand to take the final pass and touch down for his second try. Two tries by Kidsgrove put them ahead when it seemed that most of the Burton players had forgotten how to tackle. Fortunately Adam Cooke and James Walker produced try saving tackles. Marcus Armitage and William Lord produced some strong runs and Matt Prince looked like he was going to score but the ref stopped play for a scrum. After some Burton pressure the ball was spilled over the Kidsgrove line and Chesterman was first to the ball to score a try and level the score 17 – 17. Just before the end Kidsgrove scored their fourth try to win the game 22 – 17.
