Burton 5 Stoke 17 on  Sep 23rd 2007

Burton Rhinos under 15's put on spirited and organised display of rugby only to lose the game against Stoke as a result of slack tackling .

The Rhinos defended well throughout the game and were under pressure straight from the start. By keeping their calm and taking control within the pack, the Rhinos managed to turn over ball and harass the opposition into making mistakes.

It was Stoke however who scored first with the Rhinos showing their number eight too much respect and allowing him to pile over the line.

The Rhinos were quick to respond and a powerful ruck created by Johnny Cole allowed the Burton backs to quickly pass the ball out wide for Luke Upton to score in the corner. Lewis Hutley worked extremely hard out on the wing and put in some hard tackles and testing runs creating oportuinities for the Rhino's to attack.

The pack were quick to respond to loose balls, McKendrick, Black Roberts and Turner all saw plenty of the ball ,starting off their trademark attacks in tight formation. Stoke however took advantage of poor tackling by constantly feeding their number eight and two tries later the visitors secured their win.

It was an undeserved result for the Rhino's who now need to look at their individual performances in order to raise the standard for their next league games.
