A good start to the game made by Burton and a try was scored in the 3rd minute by Reeve but not converted. Willenhall responded well with a lot of pressure straight from the kick but great defence from Burton kept them at bay.
A penalty to Burton scored by Wrathall making it 8 – 0 and Willenhall were very strong in the maul, but Burton’s defence held well to score a nice try by Nathan Wrathall and Burton were unable to convert it. Willenhall, came strong again from the second kick off but Burton held firm with a great break taken by Tattersall and Briggs. Enabling Simpson-Smith a nice try under the posts which Burton converted taking the score to 20 – 0 just before half time.
In the second half Burton eagerly scored another try, within minutes with great confidence but failed again to convert it making the score 25 – 0. Willenhall applied pressure but to no avail, Tattersall straightened up to score a try - Briggs converted it 32 – 0. Constant pressure from Burton continued but both teams lost a player to the sin bin as the match became heated, due to an off the ball incident. Another Burton player was sin binned for punching an opponent and the match was ended early due to a fight.
The game was definitely enjoyed by all for its excitement. The spectators awarded the Ref 2.4 for the elegant roll.
