Three Burton RFC players have been selected for Midlands Under 18. Rob Beddard, Josh Cartwright & Spuddy Taylor emerged from the seasons County Competition and Midlands trials. The Hooker, Lock & Flanker have been playing together for the club from the age of eight. Prop David Jessel also reached the trials and acquitted himself very well. Joining them in the Staffordshire side and performing strongly were Scrum Half Phil Harris & Centre Richard Tattersall.

Beddard & Cartwright are former John Taylor High School pupils. Taylor is a former pupil Paulet High School. All three now study at Hartpury College in Gloucester.

The Midlands will meet The South West on 21 December, London & SE on 23 December and The North on 30 December. All games will be played at Broadstreet RFC, under close scrutiny from the England U18 selectors.
