Burton Under 11's on February 10th 2008

Burton travelled to Birmingham & Solihull and played 3 short 20 minute games. Losing 2 and winning 1.

Birmingham & Solihull 10  v  Burton 0

The first game was a hard fought battle with Burton losing out by 2 tries to nil. B&S had a very strong set of forwards and dominated in all the set play starving Burton of possession. Winger Lewis Mason put in some great tackles and whilst defending on his own line gave a "Show and Go" to his opposite number and put in a great clearance kick to ease the pressure. Full back Ben Whitehouse cleared up a loose ball from a kick over and powered his way down the touchline bouncing the B&S winger out the way on route.

Birmingham & Solihull 25  v  Burton 5

In the second game B&S kicked well over the Burton back line, following up their kicks to gather the ball and run in some tries. Burton struggled to defend and clear form these well placed kicks and suffered a 5 try to 1 loss. Burton's try came from a Scrum on half way which Burton won and the ball was released out to Centre Thomas Benjamin who outpaced the B&S defence to score in the corner.

In the Third game Burton were on top and played some great team Rugby to secure a two tries to 1 win. Forwards and Backs working well together it wasn't long before Scrum Half Harry Pickett powered his way over the try line through several defenders to score the try.

Burton's second try came from good secured ball by the forwards and the ball passed through the line of backs out to Centre Tai Fellows who sprinted in to score the winning try.

B&S clawed back 1 try but in the last few minutes of the game they could not find a way through the strong Burton Defence.
