Under 7's at Coalville festival on 7th October 2007

Burton U7s were split this weekend with half attending the Coalville festival and the other half the Rugby Lions festival.

Burton 25 – Oadby Wyggs 25

Burton got off to a fantastic start with Zak Taylor-Smith scoring within the first minute but Oadby replied with 2 well worked tries. Another great try from Jacob Marshall saw the score level at half time.

After the break Oadby were the first to score but then followed a period of inspirational team play with Burton passing the ball to hand from the tackle over and over again. This in turn made it possible for George Abel, Joseph Ensor and Lucy Stringer all to get their names on the score sheet. But Oadby also showed they could score tries with the game finishing a well balanced draw.

Burton 15 Towcester 25

Burton were slow to start enabling Towcester to go 3 tries up but Burton showed great determination and Jacob Marshall scored before half time. The second half started better with Matthew Baker picking up a loose ball and touching down. Despite a defensive line that included Daniel Johnson-Field and Robert Patton putting in a good effort Towcester scored twice more . Burton continued to work hard as a team seeing Philippa Stringer running and passing well and finally George Abel getting his second try of the day.
