Under 7's v Coalville on 2nd December 2007
Game 1. Burton 25 Coalville 20
The first game on this wet and windswept day went Burton's way!
With some superb tagging by Phillipa Stringer and Jacob Ruprecht, Burton started their campaign with the first of two tries by Ethan Lowing. Some great passing and offensive work helped Zak Taylor-Smith score a well deserved try, shortly followed by Burton's winning try by Elvis Drinkwater.
A great first result despite the trechurous conditions.
Game 2. Burton 25 Coalville 35
A sloppy second game from Burton, although there were some shining examples of offensive play...most notably from Danny Lockley, with a brilliant trio of tries! Two more superbly executed tries, one each from Matthew Baker and Ben Gilleland bumped up Burton's score to 25, but not even some excellent tagging by Jamie Stonier and Daniel Johnson-Field, could stop the onslaught from Coalville.
Game 3. Burton 40 Coalville 35
Burton were back on form for their final game of the day. George Abel and Charles Kingston started the game in Burton's favour with a great mix of passing and tagging, along with Phillipa Stringer and Danny Lockley. Their support helped set up Zak Taylor-Smith to Burton's first try.
George Abel and Elvis Drinkwater scored between two of Coalville's tries, shortly followed by Ethan Lowing and Jacob Ruprecht. Danny Lockley once again got onto the scoresheet, along with a superbly taken try by newcomer Matthew Suddaby.
Burton once again rose to the challenge for their final game with some fast offensive work, to give Jacob Ruprecht another try, passed by Ethan Lowing.
Two wins and one loss was an impressive result for the Mini's...the team has really come on since the start of the season.
