Burton @ Stoke on 3rd February 2008

Today, a change of venue saw the under 7's playing away at Stoke Rugby Club. Four games were played at Barlaston:

Game 1:    Stoke 25    Burton 30

Try scorers: Jacob Ruprecht (3), Zak Taylor-Smith(2), Danny Lockley

A great start for Burton on this ice cold morning. An excellent first result for Burton with strong tagging from Charles Kingston....very impressive play from both teams considering the conditions.

Game 2:    Stoke 20   Burton 15

Try scorers: George Abel, Joe Dutton, Elvis Drinkwater

A great performance from Burton, but better still from Stoke. This second Stoke team were much stronger defensively and penetrated the Burton wall to come out on top.

Game 3:     Stoke 30   Burton 20

Try scorers: Matthew Suddaby (2), Jacob Ruprecht, Ben Gilleland

Some excellent individual performances from Charles Kingston once again, and Matthew Suddaby, who was unstoppable....the passing was tight and precise....Burton were unlucky to come out second best!

Game 4:     Stoke 20   Burton 15

Try scorers: Elvis Drinkwater, Ethan Lowing, Joe Ensor

Burton were unlucky once again not to win this their final game of the day. Considering how cold and blustery the conditions were, both Burton and Stoke performed admirably and it was a shame that there had to be a loser.

Once the game was over, the teams sprinted like athletes to the clubhouse to scoff on a well deserved burger, and necked a coke or two!
