U9  Burton Barbarian's

The U9,s had a poor attendance on tour this year, so a Barbarian team was developed by Nick Phillips (coach), this allowed the attending U9 players to play.

Saturday 22 March : Burton Barbarians v Shipston:

The match was played over 3 x 12minute sessions in very wintery conditions and to the credit of all the players Burton Barbar's ended up recording a victory of 30 - 20. Tries from fly-half Dominic Phillips (3) and winger Zak Fellows (3) saw the Barbar's to victory.

The Barbarian Team: Molly Whitehouse (capt), Jonny Kingston, Emily Jackson, Alex Mason, Dominic Phillips, James North, Lora Jackson, Zak Fellows. 

Sunday 23 March : Burton Barbarians v Witney:

This match was also played over 3 x 12 minute sessions, with Burton Barbar's coming out conclusive winners 50 - 15. Tries from centre James North (3), fly-half Dominic Phillips (2), prop Jonny Kingston (2), winger Zak Fellows (1), centre Lora Jackson (1) and scrum-half Alex Mason (1).

The Barbarian Team: Molly Whitehouse (capt), Jonny Kingston, Emily Jackson, Alex Mason, Dominic Phillips, James North, Lora Jackson, Zak Fellows. 

Over both matches the Burton Barbar's played some fast flowing rugby with every player contributing to the outcome. Their defence and recycling was commented on by both opposing Coaches, who stated that they had not played against such a well structured and technical touring team at this age group.

The Burton Barbarians player of the tour was closely contested between Dominic Phillips, James North, Zak Fellows, however, Jonny Kingston was crowned "Player of the Tour" for his overwhelming development through the tour in defence and attack.
